About the Instructor

A 1996 graduate of Millikin University, Mrs. Berger received her Bachelor of Music degree with emphasis in vocal music education. She is a certified Illinois music educator.  She began her professional career in 1996, teaching choral music at Round Lake High School, where she was named one of "Who's Who Among America's Teachers."  In the year 2000, she opened her own private studio, Voices Unlimited, and has enjoyed working with students of all ages ever since. Helping students achieve success is her mission, whether teaching basic vocal technique or preparing them for college auditions.  She is also passionate about building character and confidence into each student she teaches.

Mrs. Berger has been actively involved in the performing arts since the age of seven.  In addition to her music and theatre experience, she has studied dance nationwide, performed in various stage productions from Chicago to Pennsylvania, and been active in the show choir and musical theatre venues as a performer, vocal director, and choreographer.  She has had a leadership role in several Christian Youth Theatre productions (CYT), taught privately at many of the area high schools, and continues to receive the honor of being a judge at the IHSA Solo and Ensemble Competitions each year.

One of the highlights of her teaching career has been helping her college-bound students receive acceptance and scholarships to several universities and colleges, including Millikin, Carthage, Belmont, and Elmhurst (to name only a few).  These students are currently studying or have moved out into the professional world of music.

Mrs. Berger continues to sing and perform whenever possible.  She enjoys singing regularly at weddings and leading worship at her church, Harvest Bible Chapel, whenever she has the opportunity.  Her favorite people to sing with, however, are her boys...Jerry (husband), Cody (6), and Caden (2).
